Dr.Gitonga holds MBCHB and MIMED (EnT) degrees from the University of Nairobi.
After postgraduate training she worked as an ENTsurgeon for 2 years at Thika level 4 hospital then proceeded to work in Nairobi ENT Clinic, Kenyatta National Hospital and Facial Aesthetic Clinic. At Kenyatta National Hospital she has been involved in supervision of postgraduate ENT Thesis.
She is the current vice chair of the Kenya ENT Society and the editor in chief of the ENT and Central Africa Journal of otolaryngology Head and Neck surgery.
