Dr. Lango served in the ministry of health as a medical officer at the Gilgil Sub-district hospital for justabout a year before joining Gertrude’s Children’s hospital where he worked for several years, rising through the ranks over the years to the position of senior resident paediatrician and later, Senior resident Neonatologist and Intensivist.
During this time, he was involved in the supervision and training of medical officers and senior registrars rotating in the intensive care unit. This included Aga Khan University Paediatric residents in training and newly qualified paediatricians seeking board recognition. Dr Lango then proceeded to the University of Cape Town where he successfully completed a Master of Philosophy in Neonatology and the Certificate in Neonatology by the College of Medicine of South Africa. Dr Lango worked at the Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape town for two years before returning home to join hands with fellow neonatologists to progress the practice of newborn care. He is currently in full time private practice, having admission rights at the Nairobi hospital and various other hospitals within the city.
