Dr Zungu is a registered Private Practitioner with now 18 years of experience as a medical doctor, and seven of these are in Paediatric practice, in both Public and private sectors. Dr Zungu served for one year as a medical Officer at Lubaga Hospital in Kampala. This was after one year of internship training in the same hospital. She then relocated to Nairobi, where She worked as a Medical Officer in several hospitals: At the Nairobi Equator hospital, she worked as the resident Medical officer, a management position that involved coordination of the daily running of the facility. She also worked at The Nairobi Hospital Accident and Emergency unit for 3 years before enrolling for her MMed Programme in Uganda. During her 3 years of post-graduate training, she served as Medical officer and Assistant Lecturer at the Mbarara regional referral hospital. After qualifying as a Paediatrician, she worked as a resident Paediatrician and later as Head of Department of Paediatrics and child health at Case Hospital, a highly specialised private hospital in Kampala, Uganda. She Has also worked at the Nairobi hospital as Senior Registrar and consultant Paediatrician in the department of Paediatrics and Child health. She has been mentored by several senior Paediatricians in both training and Practice.
Dr Zungu has special interest in medical research on non-communicable diseases. She would like to specialise in Haematology/oncology, in order to contribute to survival and or bring an end to childhood cancers.
Hobbies/ other interests
Dr Zungu loves reading medical journals, she loves cooking, experimenting on various cuisines and recipes, and spending time with her Family.
